Singers are a very special breed of artists. Through the medium of melody and poetry singers are a portal, a vessel to higher levels of human consciousness. Equipped with the ability to radiate and transmute intense emotions in the listener, singers have the unique ability to impact and change lives. However, it is this very openness that often leaves singers vulnerable to mental illness, substance abuse, and toxic relationships. The legacy of singers we have lost too early to overdoses and suicide is a tragedy that all vocal coaches must commit to helping alleviate through the teaching of holistic life practices. Devout Buddhist Tina Turner states: “You must love and care for yourself, because that’s when the best comes out . . . I believe that if you’ll just stand up and go, life will open up for you.”

As a vocal coach, I am dedicated to equipping professional singers with the tools and techniques needed to deal with the stresses of performance, touring, rigorous vocal usage, and toxic elements in the music industry and art world. My professional artist teaching focuses on working with singers through Skype/ Facetime while they are on tour, in the recording studio, and at home. Internet-based lessons are ideal for performing artists who require a consistent vocal health routine while managing the stresses and rigors of a busy performance and travel career. Emotional stability, spiritual connectedness and unconditional artistic support are key elements to success and longevity both on and off the stage.

All lessons commence with mind/body connection exercises and a spiritual check-in. The recommended lesson time is 1 1/2 – 2 hours; this allows us to incorporate yoga, breathing exercises, vocal technique, and repertoire work, as well as granting time for discussing emotional matters related to performance stress and anxiety.

Pre-performance warmup sessions are available for artists while on tour.
