The study of music is one of the most valuable tools one can utilize in the development of intellectual, emotional and spiritual development, and Julieanne welcomes curious students of all backgrounds and levels. Having recently completed her Doctorate of Music in Voice at McGill University (Montreal), Julieanne graduated with high recognition. Prior to this, she received a Masters of Music from the University of Southern California, where she was honored as the “Outstanding Graduate Student” for the 2002 graduating class, and a Bachelors of Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. Julieanne has performed in cities throughout North America and Europe, including New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Montreal, London, Manchester and Hvar, Croatia. With over 14 years of professional teaching and coaching experience in both voice and piano, she has been on the faculties of McGill University, McGill Conservatory of Music, University of Southern California, the Brooklyn/Queens Conservatory of Music, and has coached at Westminster Choir College and New York University. She currently maintains a private studio in Basking Ridge, New Jersey and teaches at the Pingry School in Martinsville, NJ. Julieanne is a versatile singer and pianist who has performed and recorded in a wide variety of vocal styles, including traditional opera, electronic, avant-garde, experimental, jazz and pop. Her vocal instruction is grounded in the belief that the origins of excellent singing lie in the Italian tradition of the bel canto school. This fundamental technique is not solely applicable to classical singing – when utilized correctly it becomes the basis for good singing in all styles: musical theater, jazz, pop, R&B and rock. Voice lessons are accompanied, recorded onto CD and given to students for at-home practice. Free initial 30 minute consultation provided for all students.
